temporarily get rid of junk mail/ telemarketers

Telemarketers- be gone:
This works for your cell phone and home phone for about 3 months or so. You'll have to redo it when they start up again.
Two ways to do it:  1-888-382-1222   Press 1 for english.  Press 1 to register your number, then put in your 10 digit number. You must be calling from the number in question.  So you'll have to call from your cell and Home, etc. This is set from the Federal Trade Commision. They give you instructions on what to do if someone continues to call evn after they are notified via this service.
You can also go to donotcall.gov and follow prompts there.  Put in your number or file a complaint.

Junk mail is kinda tricky to stop, just because their are so many origins. To get rid of junk e-mail: go to unsubscribe.com   For snail mail junk mail: You can start by going to Catalogchoice and removing catalogs you do not want to receive, donotmail.org is another one to visit.
There are some sites that try to get you to buy software or whatever. ignore that.
Secondly, go to DMA or MPS websites to submit form online or get the address and send in written applications.
Thirdly, you can go to Valassis website  or call 1-888-241-6760
Finally, Notify these frequent mailing list users to put you on their "supress" lists:
